PATHWAYS TO QUALIFICATION
The following study programmes provide opportunities to become qualified in the civil and electronics industries.
Certificate in Engineering Technology
A Level 4, 60 credit certificate providing a choice of four areas to study – Core Engineering, Highway Engineering, Civil Engineering and Water Utilities. This is a good foundation for further engineering studies at higher levels.
NZ Diploma in Engineering
A level 6, 240 credit qualification, structured into 16 courses (12 compulsory plus 4 electives). There are two disciplines to choose from:
NZDE (Civil)
NZDE (Electronics)
Four of the compulsory courses are common to both Diplomas
The NZ Board of Engineering Diplomas (NZBED) oversees the Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Diplomas.
